this guy kind of looks like the guy from dirty jobs
that looks so fun ive never been ice fishing but i love freshwater and saltwater fishing!
Much different than here . . . last time i was out it was about -30C with the windchill, there is about 2 1/2 feet of ice, we drive out to our spot (with the truck, the ice is thick enough), and a hand auger is out of the question lol, especially with a 10″ blade. Not to mention we use minnows.

So did you actually catch anything? Sounds kinda cold and icky, what with the ice and the fly larvae.

Made my day. And sure… worry about thin ice but just go ahead and drill holes where you’re sitt’n.
eric,, it is impossible to walk on a 5cm ice.. it has to be 25 or more to be safe..
would u like me to go with it and see if we are still enemies at the end again or not?
