yea jumping rope can increase your vertical and your sprint speed.

For a 340lb man, I would suggest to start off with some very strong power walks. I mean really push your legs as hard & fast as you can for half a mile, rest for 2 minutes & start again. If you have all your energy back after the 2 minute rest then cut it down to 1 minute half rest & decrease the rest time as you progress because you want to still be tired when you start again. Do this 2 miles a day everyday to start off then increase the miles as you progress & you will lose weight.

Contrary to rumor, jumping rope is not for sissies. Yes, a good rope makes all the difference. If you really want an inexpensive way to get an excellent cardiovascular workout, this is the place to start. Don’t be a sissy… get a rope!

Man…I’ve been doing a lot of jump roping but I just landed wrong 4 days ago and I rolled my left foot and I got a Jones fracture on my pinky toe up by the top. SUCKS I broke my foot!!!! I want to jump some more rope!! I also like to just jump side to side with both feet side to side front to back.

And with wrist and ankle weights on at the same time puts a nice twist on it with a rope that already has weighted handles ;) .
