I had the great pleasure in 1988, of meeting Dr Nolan Porterfield, author of JIMMIE RODGERS: The Life and Times of America’s Blue Yodeler, 1979 University of Illinois Press. He even signed my copy. I used my copy in a still life drawing, of which Dr Porterfield bought a print. The singing brakeman was a true recorded music pioneer.
